CLARITY

A Biblical Response to Current Events – 8-25-18

“Who I Am” vs. “Who I Know”

What’s Happening:  “A cop gets lamblasted by a teen who gives the lamest responses ever when pulled over for speeding…for your Saturday entertainment (https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/watch-punk-kid-tells-cop-dads-mayor-cop-tells-kid-got-wrong-town/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=CTBreaking&utm_campaign=breaking&utm_content=conservative-tribune). ‘This isn’t going to hurry up because you don’t have your driver’s license,’ Officer McClendon said.”

Knee-Jerk Response:  “Cut him some slack…it was just speeding!”

Biblical Response:  “Was it? Is there no law against abusive language being used? No law against driving without a license? What about the laws that should be on the books?! Good thing there’s no law against stupidity!”

Christians? We’ve all been guilty of name dropping. There is only one situation where it will cut any ice, though…and you’d better drop the right Name…and you’d better be able to prove your relationship with a right heart or you’re in trouble (Matt. 7:22-23).”

Here’s a Prayer You Can Pray:  “Heavenly Father, help us to know that who we are is dependent on Who You are…and, therefor, Who’s we are;  in Jesus’ Name, amen.”
