CLARITY – 6-27-18 SCOTUS Rules?


A Biblical Response to Current Events – 6-27-18




What’s Happening:  “Not only did the ‘Travel Ban’ get upheld, and the majority ruled that conservative pregnancy clinics did not have to recommend abortion providers, but the infamous Korematsu ruling (legalizing Japanese interment camps in 1942) was officially repudiated…though it didn’t keep the minority from citing the alleged similarities ( ‘”The dissent’s reference to Korematsu … affords this Court the opportunity to make express what is already obvious: Korematsu was gravely wrong the day it was decided, has been overruled in the court of history, and — to be clear — ‘has no place in law under the Constitution,.,’ Chief Justice Roberts wrote.”


Knee-Jerk Response:  “So history was wrong…how does that matter today?”


Biblical Response:  “Acknowledging that history was wrong may be a HUGE deal…at least now we can learn from the mistakes of the past. If you don’t ever make that acknowledgement, error becomes precedent…that’s when writer and philosopher George Santayana’s famous quote (‘condemned to repeat it’[the past]) comes into play. ”


“Christians? The rulings of SCOTUS are important, but the Final Judge will have the final say (Rev. 19:11).”


Here’s a Prayer You Can Pray:  “Heavenly Father, while opinions are like noses…everybody’s got one, Your opinion is fact…whether we call it so or not. Help us to submit to Your rulings: in Jesus’ Name, amen.”
